Purpose In Mundane Tasks

I believe everything we do
big or small is for a
greater God-given purpose
We all live by the beat of time. A new day, but with the same mundane tasks ahead.
We think to ourselves – Is this really for a purpose? Filing out the same tax form, writing the same letter, checking off the tasks and moving on…
I believe everything we do big or small is for a greater God-given purpose. When you live intentionally and let God lead you – you will find that those mundane tasks prepare you for the divine appointment He has already ordained in your life.
Recently, I experienced that in my life. I was on a ministry trip when God led me to use skills that I had either recently been trained on or that I’ve been doing for years in my career.
The first God divine appointment was when our ministry leader needed first-aid assistance and I being recently trained through my work on First-Aid and CPR – the knowledge was fresh in my mind and without hesitation I became the impromptu nurse. I was able to bandage up the wound and focus on what needed to be done in that moment. God will always prepare and give us the strength to see through the divine appointments He has set before you. Even if you are not a calm-natured person during first-aid moments.
The second God divine appointment happened when the guest speaker without knowing me personally or my skills or career track asked if I could help with a tax form. The tax form I had filled out countless times in my field of work – again, without hesitation I guided the guest speaker on how to fill out this important document. She thanked me, I was glad to offer my assistance.
I’ve thought about those two divine moments in time that God led me to serve the needs of others and how He had already prepared me beforehand.
How many times throughout our day – do we pause and thank God for what he is preparing us for in that moment. That same letter we are mailing out, that form we are filling out for the hundredths time, that same excel spreadsheet we dislike filing out with data, the mundane tasks we have to check off, the countless hours of on-the-job training – they are all a small part of a bigger God-given purpose.
Work willing as if you were working for the Lord and not men…and you will see God’s hand in your life.
It may not be tomorrow or next month…but in time you will see how God prepared you for what is to come. Keep working faithfully and believing. Trust me, He does prepare and move us.
Stay hopeful always.
Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men
Colossians 3:23 ESV
For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.
Jeremiah 29:11 ESV

I love how you were able to use your skills in times you didn’t think they would be needed. To me, this is a perfect reminder that we should always be learning and growing. God isn’t through with us and He’s preparing us for more things to come. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you 😊 Yes, we are always growing 🙏 🙌 😀 ❤️
