~ The Truth ~

Sometimes we know it in our hearts … we stayed because everyone needs love. But months turned into years…. and your feelings became overwhelming. Yet, his answer was always the same.

“I don’t want a relationship with you”

He says…. Just a friendship….

You find yourself at a crosspath….to stay …to go…to let go…to hold on….You pray for wisdom and guidance…. It’s all the same to him. He’s made up his mind. You take what’s left ….. the memories and move on. Only God can restore what’s been done.

The truth is that God is enough for you. His love is enough. You are chosen by Him, called His child. You are wonderfully and fearfully made by Your heavenly Father. He will always pick you, over and over again.

~ Be Thankful ~

We have become a GRUMBLING culture! Phones have made us so impatient! • We no longer have a cord holding you to the phone. You are free to walk around while on the phone. • Thank God for technology! • Wake up with a grateful heart Giving thanks to the Lord for your life. • Do ALL THINGS with a GRATEFUL heart • Don’t let bitterness take hold of your life Don’t let disappointments bring you down Don’t let expectations become an idol Don’t let complaining steal your joy Don’t let offense bring division •

Reflect today about what you are thankful for and write them down •

Pray and ask God to help you focus on His goodness over your LIFE, to be thankful for everything in your life 🙏

~ Forgiveness ~

A word that will help or hurt you Forgiveness A word that will encourage or divide you Forgiveness A word that will lead or delay you

Choose a life that both you and your descendants may live. Deuteronomy 30:19

Forgiveness is a choice Forgive and let God’s will be done

Prayer: Dear Lord, Help us to release and forgive any offense that caused us hurt. Help us to pray for those who do wrong towards us and to love them just as You do. Help us live in Your love and peace and to be sober-minded so that we watch our words and actions to not cause offense to anyone. Help us to sow love and encouragement to those around us. Help us to be wise and know the difference between trust and forgiveness. Thank you for forgiving us of our sins on the cross. In Jesus name, Amen 🙏

~ Freedom of Fear ~

Overcoming the fear of driving Slowly driving on backroads to college Three attempts at passing the driving test Years before taking the Highways Stomach knots on bad weather days Tightly gripping the wheel Letting everyone pass me Every day was a challenge Until the day I was no longer afraid I drive with peace and freedom now.

Freedom through Christ only He can lead you to the other side of fear

Freedom!

For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, “Fear not, I am the one who helps you.” Isaiah 41:13 ESV

Honor The Inner Child In You

~ Every child loves to receive a gift ~

As Adults we forget to take time to enjoy the small blessings of life. To honor the inner child in us that craves to play and be adventurous.

Recently I was gifted three gifts and I keep each gift on my desk. Each gift means something special to me, but together it’s meaning is precious.

The first gift was an Etch-A-Sketch. My inner child was full of joy when I opened my eyes and saw what I thought would be a birthday present months from now.

The second gift was a unique light bulb plant holder. My growing soul smiled as my friend opened it to put the light bulb in place.

The third gift, beautiful stones with encouraging words etched in them. My servant’s heart full of encouragement.

Each gift alone is special, however when together it’s priceless. When I glance at them, I smile and remember to let my inner child play, to grow daily, and be an encouragement to others. To honor my inner child in the process, to be my authentic self, to give myself grace, to be unapologetically ME.

Always remember to honor your inner child. Next time you receive a gift, open it as if you were a child, smile and laugh, enjoying the moment.

When you give a gift, give with an open heart and love. Sow into others your gifts that God has given you. We all have talents and passions, we grow from learning from each other. From embracing our uniqueness to showing our inner child. Those who love and support you will always give space for you to be yourself.

Life is a journey to be experienced with those special souls who bring out the child in us.

In My Mother’s Kitchen

Pancakes and Bacon – Yes, Please!

My mom’s kitchen is a special place where love and magic mix. She’s a prof chef by standards of practice. As a child, I remember my mom getting up early mornings to make my siblings and myself a hot breakfast as we would stand in the cold winter mornings waiting for the school bus.

Home-made cooking is her specialty – it comes to no surprise, she has a green thumb, so anything she puts her hands in either grows magically or tastes like heaven.

As a mother of eight children, being a caretaker, cook, jack of all trades – has been her career for the last forty years. I say career because like any  career you learn the skills and knowledge to become proficient at your job. It’s a daily routine per say.

Routine: Performed as part of a regular procedure rather than for a special reason. (Google Definition)

Recently I was over my parents house for breakfast – my mother of course in the kitchen with my sisters and myself. All of us cooking – yet my mother knew tricks to the trade to be efficient in the kitchen. I wanted to take out a plate for the bacon, my mom said, ” put a napkin down beside the pancakes (she already had a tray full of fluffy pancakes) and place the bacon there”. Why didn’t I think of this easy solution, a no-brainier. My younger sister said something that had me thinking, she said, “this is her career”, and as fortunate as I am to work within an office setting as my other siblings. My mother’s career as a caretaker, cook, jack of all trades – paved and paid the way for us. I cannot expect to enter her kitchen and have the same skillset and experience as her. In essence none of can because she allowed us to pursue an education, to explore the possibilities of our independence as women. However, it’s in her determination and hard-working mindset that we carry her legacy as a strong woman.

It was in the kitchen that we learned the value of what it means to have a genuine routine – she does not cook for a special reason, rather she does it because she herself sees others as special people to care for and feed. After decades of cooking – she’s a leader that doesn’t sit and watch, rather show and explain why as she knows a better way. You can add leadership skills to her already full resume. In my mother’s kitchen you may eat a delicious meal – but leave with a valuable lesson if of course you pay attention.

And the Journey begins…

Seeing the possibilities beyond the set backs can be somewhat frustrating. Recently I had my work hours reduced. So many thoughts raced my mind when I was told of my new work schedule. But, I had a overwhelming feeling of peace about my new work schedule. I was happy-A door was opening for me to focus on my personal/educational goals. I’m a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. Every person we cross path with- be it for a short period or for a lifetime it was destined to happen. We learn from every event and every person we meet. It’s not until we have passed those moments in time that we become grateful for the experience gained or lesson learned. I know this too is an opporunithy for me to embrace and make the best of it.

I’m looking forward to this extra time I have been given. Starting this blog is the beginning of my passion filled journey of investing in myself as a mentor and leader. My hopes are to be able to help and encourage those in need of self-growth and help them find their passion too. I too will be learning and growing-as blogging is new to me. And the journey continues…
