~ Forgiven Ministry ~

A North Carolina faith-based nonprofit organization spreading God’s word and love with inmates and thier families. If you want to hear the stories of hope and forgiveness through the lens of those who have experienced incarceration or the impact of it – I would encourage you to read Hands Reaching, Hearts Touching A 30 Day Devotional written by the founder of @forgivenministryinc Scottie Barnes.

I had the opportunity to hear her story for the first time a couple weeks ago through my work’s 10 years of tithing event and I couldn’t hold back my tears. A powerful story of love, forgiveness, and God’s grace. If you would like a copy of her devotional please reach out to @forgivenministryinc

Never stop praying and forgiving those who have hurt you knowing or unknowingly 🙏 God is faithful always 🙏 🙌 Your story makes a difference! A Testimony to share God’s work in your life! Be blessed always 🙏 ❤️

Precious Moments

I was recently asked , “What did you learn in these last six months”? My response, “to appreciate each moment with your loved ones, to be in the moment, mindful of their presence…” I can never be more grateful for the opportunity to take care of two beautiful little souls. Not having kids myself yet,  It was an experience full of love, joy, and headaches…lol I learned to be patient…nap times can make you or break you lol I learned that you don’t have to make fancy food… babies can’t tell the difference.. and they will eat a grilled cheese just fine (my nephews favorite) I learned that if you teach them to pray over their food, they’ll remind you when it’s not being done… and don’t forget to close your eyes (Gio is looking at you) haha 🤣 😆 I learned that they love to play with you if you take the time to engage with them….from exercises to hiding under the blankets at naptime.. I learned that changing a diaper is a next level multitasking (updates resume) hahaaa 🤣 I learned that they will hurt your feelings real quick when they don’t get their way…mad looks lol hahaaa 🤣 I learned that they are burst of energy just wanting to love on you all day I learned that they are as smart as you keep them mentally stimulated (Gio loves to spell out words..and will count down between each song on pandora.. 😆 who knew it’s 10 counts between the songs) I learned that they have their own little personalities… and omg if Gio’s legos fall apart… Gigi will give you her “crying” babydoll just to continue playing lol 🤣 Most of all, I learned to be in the moment… to enjoy them as much as possible!! Forever grateful for this time God allowed me to take care of His precious children he blessed my sister with. Love you Gio and Gigi 💙💖 Thank you for making me a better aunt!!

Honor The Inner Child In You

~ Every child loves to receive a gift ~

As Adults we forget to take time to enjoy the small blessings of life. To honor the inner child in us that craves to play and be adventurous.

Recently I was gifted three gifts and I keep each gift on my desk. Each gift means something special to me, but together it’s meaning is precious.

The first gift was an Etch-A-Sketch. My inner child was full of joy when I opened my eyes and saw what I thought would be a birthday present months from now.

The second gift was a unique light bulb plant holder. My growing soul smiled as my friend opened it to put the light bulb in place.

The third gift, beautiful stones with encouraging words etched in them. My servant’s heart full of encouragement.

Each gift alone is special, however when together it’s priceless. When I glance at them, I smile and remember to let my inner child play, to grow daily, and be an encouragement to others. To honor my inner child in the process, to be my authentic self, to give myself grace, to be unapologetically ME.

Always remember to honor your inner child. Next time you receive a gift, open it as if you were a child, smile and laugh, enjoying the moment.

When you give a gift, give with an open heart and love. Sow into others your gifts that God has given you. We all have talents and passions, we grow from learning from each other. From embracing our uniqueness to showing our inner child. Those who love and support you will always give space for you to be yourself.

Life is a journey to be experienced with those special souls who bring out the child in us.

We Pray Because We Believe

“I think I have had more experiences of God in my life than not” – S

When I was a teenager, I wanted to go on the missionary trip with the youth group…and it was the day so so before my flight…and my passport hadn’t arrived…I remember crying and praying in my room on the floor…for the passport to arrive….and you know….it came that day…..

It’s hard to believe in difficult times…to be still…to not worry…to not get anxious… sometimes we just need to be still and reflect on the grace that God has already shown us in our lives… the little blessings…the ones we didn’t see as a blessing in disguise….the moments of happiness….the moments of grace…of favor…of love…

Let go and let God…. trust that everything will be okay….we pray because we believe….
